Bargoin Museum

Bâtiment néoclassique inauguré en 1903 au coeur de la ville, le musée Bargoin propose des collections particulièrement riches et originales.

Two museums were generously donated by two citizens of Clermont-Ferrand, and are named after them: Henri Lecoq and Jean-Baptiste Bargoin.

In the Bargoin Museum there are two departments: the archaeological department with collections of items found in the region dating back to prehistory, protohistory and the Gallo-Roman era: the plaques from the Sources des Roches are unique in Europe as well as in the Carpet and Textile Art department which has permanent and temporary displays of high-quality items.
